The Pathways to Resilience in Semi-arid Economies (PRISE) programme used Outcome Mapping to capture changes in stakeholders’ behaviour and actions around research processes and research outputs, and how they may ultimately lead to sustained changes in policy and practice. PRISE identified key groups of actors (boundary partners) and used Progress Markers to track, understand and adapt its engagement with the stakeholders. This paper outlines the OM process and tools used, and reflects on the challenges and lessons from this 4-year experience.
